Sun invest $16 million

Sun Hydraulics plans to invest $16 million in an expansion, including a new facility with 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 16,000 square feet of office.

Sarasota-based Sun (NASDAQ: SNHY) has applied for permitting to begin site preparation for construction on property the company owns at 803 Tallevast Road, a written statement said.

An infrastructure utility building was completed in November in the first phase of the planned expansion.

The new facility is needed to create capacity for future growth, Sun’s President said in the statement.
